Intro to 2-Color Brioche in the Round

Brioche knitting is the current “it knit” and you can do it, too! Brioche knitting is easier in the round than flat, and even easier with two colors rather than one.

This class is an introduction to brioche for intermediate level knitters. We’ll learn basic brioche rib while knitting a simple headband, as well as how to fix common mistakes in brioche knitting.

2-Color Syncopated Brioche

There are so many ways to play with brioche once you understand the basic stitch. In this class we dive deeper, so you should already be familiar with working two-color brioche.

We’ll practice syncopating on your homework swatch (swapping dominant color with background color), and learn an increase and 2 decreases. Voilà, it’s a gauge swatch, and now we cast on for the real deal!

Michele Lee Bernstein, aka PDXKnitterati, loves designing accessories, especially if they use one or two skeins of very special yarn. She's fond of texture (brioche, lace, entrelac, elongated stitches) and using interesting techniques to make small objects sing. Her patterns are available through Ravelry.com and Payhip.com.

Michele loves teaching knitters to be the boss of their knitting and does so at local yarn shops in Oregon, fiber festivals including Vogue Knitting Live, and guild retreats. She taught at Twisted forever irl, before we went online only!
