How To: Make a Slip Knot
The slip knot is used to start almost all knitting cast ons, and is an essential component for your knitting and crochet toolbox.

1. Make a loop by crossing the long end of the yarn (attached to the ball) over the short end of the yarn.2. Place the loop on top of the long strand.
3. Grab the strand through the loop and pull through.
