Plied Knowledge: The week that was…
At the store:
- Less Traveled Yarn! Our second shipment of our newest yarn arrived and we are even more in love. If you are looking for sport-weight yarn for your next project, definitely take a look... Dyer Sara joined us Thursday for our knit night and it is always a blast to meet our favorite dyers in person!
- Have you heard? New Marls from Brooklyn Tweed! We're losing our minds. Two brand new colors are now available in Shelter- Amaranth and Caraway. And all the marls are now also available in Loft- Narwhal, Caribou, Newsprint, Amaranth and Caraway. To celebrate, they're offering a free coupon to download the Skipp hat pattern with the purchase of two or more colors of Loft. Ah, the possibilities...
- Malabrigo happily showed up as well! In addition to a few fabulous new colors, they sent us a restock of 3 of their books; Book 14- Mechita and Sock, Book 13 - Shawl Road, and Book 10 - Rios...
- We have 2 trunk shows from Quince & Co that end on the 15th and if you are looking for inspiration, you should definitely stop in! The Scarves show is for those still looking to knit for the end of the cold weather and if you are already looking ahead, the Linen show is not to be missed!
- And don't forget to keep an eye on our classes - we update them regularly!
Around the web:
- We have hit the part of spring where we need COLOR! Here's a crochet donut floor pillow that can totally fit the bill...
- Calling all scrap yarn- here's a pom pom floor rug tutorial for weekend diy...
- The trees in town are in bloom! Ever wondered how fruit breeding works? Wonder no more...
- And if you are just looking for something soothing and meditative, we offer these oil paintings of clouds...
And totally, completely, unapologetically local:
- This one is local-ish. Only a short drive from Portland is the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival which never fails to delight! If you have never made the trek to this lovely farm out side of Woodburn, we assure you the 40 acres of tulips are TOTALLY worth it!
Have a great weekend and remember, you can always find us online!
