Sock Yarn for the New Year

Today, we talk about sock yarn, baby. Out of the stacks of boxes we’ve received lately, two are new-to-us sock yarn companies, PacaPeds from The Alpaca Yarn Company and Sheepfeet from Sheep Shop Yarn Company.

PacaPeds is a blend of 20% Alpaca, 65% Superwash Wool and 15% Nylon. Each hank is 100g / 360 yds and will knit on a US #1 – 2. It’s really gorgeous stuff, wonderful colors, soft and drapy, but has the strength of the wool and nylon to give your sock durability.

Sheepfeet is a sport-to-dk sock yarn, 100% superwash merino wool, in 10 fabulous colors. I fell deeply in love with at least one of them, and may or may not have had a dream about it the other night. I’m not telling!
