Silver slivers
Our much anticipated delivery of Painted Skeins Silver, Silk, & Superwash Merino Sock Yarn has arrived!
What gives this yarn its sparkle is 2% honest-to-goodness silver. Here’s what Clara Parkes wrote about the base yarn (from Kraemer) in Knitter’s Review:
This is not flashy plastic novelty silver, this is actual physical silver presented in extremely fine, thin fibrous strands that are evenly blended throughout the other fibers. Those other fibers, though, are what seal the deal: 63% superwash Merino, 20% silk, and 15% nylon. It has all the makings of a classic, luxurious sock yarn—with just a dusting of bling to put it over the top.
Add on top of that the incredible depth of Painted Skeins’ hand-dyed colors and you get a truly luscious yarn. Four skeins sold before we could even carry it over to put it on the shelves! It’s elegantly festive and perfect for a holiday pair of socks or shawl. To the right is an ascot that Ms. Painted Skeins herself made to show off her lovely creation.
