Ready for Socks?
Socks are why I learned to knit. I wanted long, striped knee socks. Socks that fit my feet, instead of leaving a clump of heel sticking out of the back of my shoes. Socks no one else would have. The first real knitting pattern I followed, after completing the obligatory 12 mile scarf, was a sock pattern. Actually, it was mostly just a diagram, drawn by my mother, with some notes. When I turned a heel for the first time, that magical moment when all that has been arcane becomes clear, I knew I was hooked. I started carrying a sock in progress with me everywhere, earning weird looks from my friends in spite of my fist full of pointy sticks.
Discover why I think socks make such a perfect, portable project with our upcoming class First Socks – Cuff Down with A Gusset Heel on 2 Circular Needles: Thursday, March 31, April 7 & 14, from 6:00-8:00pm.
