Ready for Socks?

First SocksSocks are why I learned to knit. I wanted long, striped knee socks. Socks that fit my feet, instead of leaving a clump of heel sticking out of the back of my shoes. Socks no one else would have. The first real knitting pattern I followed, after completing the obligatory 12 mile scarf, was a sock pattern. Actually, it was mostly just a diagram, drawn by my mother, with some notes. When I turned a heel for the first time, that magical moment when all that has been arcane becomes clear, I knew I was hooked. I started carrying a sock in progress with me everywhere, earning weird looks from my friends in spite of my fist full of pointy sticks.

Discover why I think socks make such a perfect, portable project with our upcoming class First Socks – Cuff Down with A Gusset Heel on 2 Circular Needles: Thursday, March 31, April 7 & 14, from 6:00-8:00pm. Join the delightful Emily Devlin and learn the fundamentals of sock construction. Made with worsted weight, these cozy socks will prime you for many pairs to come.

We always have a wide range of exciting classes on the calendar! From stretches every knitter should know to exciting stitches that will astound your friends, our classes will bring new dimension to your craft life.
