Classes with Nichole from Bluegirl Knits

We are superhappy to announce that we’ve scheduled some more classes with the fantastic Nichole from Bluegirl Knits! Her last Machu Picchu Hat class was such a success, we just HAD to do it again! And, we have quite a few new ones, including an Intro to Slip-Stitch Knitting, an Intro to Double-Knitting, AND an Intro to Brioche Knitting – yeehaww!!!

Machu Picchu Hat
Learn stranded knitting with 2 colors! This hat has a unique cast-on, which begins at the braided ties of the earflap.

Materials: Bulky yarn in 2 colors, 16 inch (40 cm) US size 10 circular needle, or size that gives you gauge, 2nd circular or DPNs same size. Includes Machu Picchu hat pattern by Nichole Reese.
Skills learned: Color work, chart reading.

Introduction to Slip-Stitch Knitting
Come learn this fun and easy way to incorporate color work into your knitting, without having to work two colors at a time. You will be provided charts that work several different kinds of slip-stitch techniques. We will work with two and thee colors to create swatches in class.

Introduction to Double Knitting
In this class we will learn cast on, increase, decrease, and bind off techniques for one color and two color double knitting. Learn how to create a tube of fabric just by working back and forth and how to open and close that tube to create designs. We also cover double knitting in the round!

Introduction to Brioche Knitting
Come learn the basics of how to execute the brioche stitch. We’ll make swatches in plain and ribbed brioche in one color, then learn brioche in 2 colors. You’ll learn how to increase and decrease within brioche stitches as well.
