For HAT: Approximately 120 yards/110 meters worsted weight yarn, AND the same amount of fine mohair. (Or any yarn or yarn combination that gets you gauge.)
For COWL: Approximately 135 yards/123 meters [350 yards/320 meters]worsted weight yarn, AND the same amount of fine mohair. (Or any yarn or yarn combination that gets you gauge.)
Needles
For HAT: US #8/5.0mm (or size you need to get gauge) 16"/40 cm circular, AND US #8/5.0mm double points for crown, AND US #7/4.5mm (or one size smaller than above) 16"/40 cm circular for ribbed brim
For COWL: US #8/5.0mm (or size you need to get gauge) 16"/40 cm [40"/100 cm] circular, AND US #7/4.5mm (or one size smaller than above) 16"/40 cm [40"/100 cm] circular for ribbing
