Falling Leaves Cowl & Scarf pattern
Need a quick knit? This is it! As soft and warm as a hug, with a gentle lace motif reminiscent of falling (or growing) leaves. Instructions are given for a single-loop or double-loop cowl, or a scarf. Designed by Emily Williams.

Any weight yarn will work, and gauge is not crucial. Let the yarn you love be your guide. Instructions will guide you through calculations for whatever gauge you get.

Lace - US 2 / 2.75 mm
Fingering - US 4 / 3.5 mm
Sport - US 5 / 3.75 mm
DK - US 6 / 4.0 mm
Worsted - US 8 / 5.0 mm
Bulky - US 11 / 6.5 mm
Super Bulky - US 17 / 12 mm

Cowl: knit flat, then ends grafted or seamed together

Any gauge will work. Instructions will guide you through how to work with any gauge you get in your chosen yarn, though this will affect finished measurements and yarn usage. As a rough guide, approximate sts per 4"/10 cm in Motif is:
Lace - 28
Fingering - 26
Sport - 24
DK - 22
Worsted - 18
Bulky - 14
Super Bulky - 8
