Coast Starlight Hat pattern - by Emily Williams

Coast Starlight Hat pattern - by Emily Williams
Books, magazines, and patterns are final sale
The Coast Starlight train runs all along the Pacific Coast. It takes forever, but goes over beautiful, dramatic mountains and through lush, Jurassic forests. You can knit this hat on the leg from San Francisco to Portland. Ask me how I know…
This hat is worked from the earflap cords up to the crown. The earflaps are knit separately, left live, then joined together by casting on stitches for the rest of the hat. The secret to its perfect fit is a longer front brim than back and short rows in the earflaps. Sure to keep you toasty warm even on an all night train ride.
