Dyed by hand in Cork, Ireland from 50% recycled fiber, Hedgehog Fibres Tweedy features distinctive bright Tweedy flecks from recycled skein ties!
Tweedy is a new and instantly-beloved yarny concept - a fingering-weight mix of 50% non-superwash Faulkland wool (which has a natural grey tone), 37.5% recycled wool, and 12.5% thread waste.
The original Tweedy has a warm, neutral, beige base, while Tweedy Noir is the same recycled goodness on a black base.
What, you ask, is thread waste? That is all the bits and snips and ends and ties from every other Hedgehog Fibres yarn base! They are collected and then spun up to create the rainbow tweedy nubs you see in this unique yarn. Tweedy has a soft, fuzzy quality with an endless variety of subtle and bold pops of color.
Please be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project. We're not sure when Hedgehog will produce this very popular base again - or if we'll be able to get any when they do! Every skein is different and every batch is sure to be distinctive, too.

This yarn is dyed by hand and will vary from skein to skein and batch to batch. Each one is an unique work of art full of subtle variation and beauty, so your skein will differ from the one pictured. To achieve the most even possible color distribution, consider alternating skeins while working your project.
Please buy enough for your entire project all at once. We will do our best to select skeins from the same dye lot or, if there is no dye lot, skeins that visually match. If you add multiple skeins of the same yarn to your cart you'll be prompted at checkout to select how to proceed if we have concerns about skeins matching.
While colors shown are accurate to the best of our ability, computer monitors and dye lots both vary so the skeins you receive may differ from what is shown.
