This classic pattern is a great way to learn short rows or knitting backward. Knit two out of one ball of Sugar ‘n Cream or - my favorite - one of these and one of Grandma Marian’s Dishcloth.
As well as dishcloths and washcloths, these make excellent coasters, trivets, and padding between dishes or pots.
We have a tutorial for how to work the short rows in this pattern.
Diameter: 6"/15 cm
Measured after washing
20 stitches = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch, after washing. Stitch gauge is not crucial but will affect the finished size and yarn usage.
