Needle Felting (also called punching applique) is technique for combining and sculpting wool fibers that does not require thread or glue. Place the applique over the base fabric and pierce lightly with the Needle Felting Tool. The fibers will become interlaced, attaching the motif to the fabric beautifully.
Needle felting is also a wonderful tool for mending handknits. Individual strands of wool yarn can be felted back together if they are broken, and patches can be felted over holes in sock heels or sweater elbows.
