Class - Tink, Drop, Frog: How Do I Fix This? Saturday, September 15 from 10:30am-12:30pm; with Michele Description
How to fix (and notice!) common mistakes in your knitting. This is an essential class for new knitters who want to be more self-reliant and pump up their knitting mojo.
Please read our class policies and cancellation information before registering.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Skills Required: Basic long tail or knitted cast on, knit and purl stitches, binding off.
Skills Learned: Reading your knitting, picking up dropped stitches, unknitting stitch by stitch (tinking), tearing out rows at a time (frogging), and other common mistakes.
Homework: Knit one flat, stockinette stitch swatch (knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side) in worsted weight yarn (light color preferable) on appropriately sized needles. Cast on 16 stitches, and work 16 rows. Leave on needles - do not bind off. Students who do not finish their homework will be able to observe the techniques used, but may not be able to perform them in class.
Materials: Either bring your own or before/during class get 20% off your purchase of the following:
- Yarn: 1 skein of worsted weight yarn - preferably wool, not variegated, and light-colored to make it easier to see your stitches. We recommend Malabrigo Worsted and Berroco Ultra Wool.
- Needles: one set of knitting needles for knitting flat to match your yarn. US #8 / 5 mm or so - whatever gets you a nice gauge on that yarn.
- Notions: one crochet hook in size G, H, or I.
- Pattern: n/a
