First Socks: Cuff Down with a Gusset Heel on DPNs: Thursday, January 9, 16, & 23, from 5:00-7:00pm - from Twisted Classes
Discover why so many knitters love to make socks. Learn the basics of sock construction using the traditional top-down, gusset method. These socks are knit on double pointed needles (also known as DPNs), and use worsted weight yarn to focus on sock construction.
All classes are intended for adults (roughly high school and up) unless otherwise noted. Please read our class policies and cancellation information before registering and contact us if you have any questions!
Long tail or knitted cast on, knit and purl stitches, common decreases, pattern reading, binding off.
Basics of top-down sock construction, including working a heel gusset, as well as working with 2 circular needles to knit a small item in the round.
Students MUST do a gauge swatch before class with YOUR yarn and needles to ensure you are achieving a gauge of 5 sts = 1” / 2.5 cm.
