Twisted Classes Class - Intro to Steeking - Bucket List Mug Rug/Coaster: Saturday, January 26, from 10:30-12:30pm; with Michele
Are steeks on your bucket list? Come cut your first steek; it’s not as scary as it sounds! We’ll reinforce our knitting with slip stitch crochet (no previous crochet experience necessary) and then cut and finish the raw edges. You’ll knit your mug rug/coaster in the round as homework, and come ready for the action.
Please read our class policies and cancellation information before registering.
Long tail or knitted cast on, knit and purl stitches, common increases and decreases, knitting in the round, reading a pattern, binding off.
Knit your mug rug/coaster in the round and block it (steam or wet block OK). Bring your homework to class, ready to cut! Students who do not have their homework complete will not be able to steek in class, but will still be able to observe the technique.
Either bring your own or before/during class get 20% off your purchase of the following:
- Yarn: two 50g skeins of non-superwash worsted weight yarn approximately 100yds each. We recommend Malabrigo Worsted.
- Needles: two 24” circular needles, or one 40”-47” circular needle for magic loop method, in a size that gives you a pleasant fabric with your chosen yarn, apprx. US #7-9; DPNs will be too uncomfortable
- Pattern: Before class, please purchase a copy of the Bucket List Coffee Accessories pattern by Michele Bernstein. It is available electronically and print-on-demand at Twisted. It is also available electronically directly from Ravelry.com, however Twisted's class discount does not apply to materials not purchased at Twisted.
