The smaller yardage means a quicker gradient, perfect for smaller projects like hats, cowls, and mitts. And for colorwork accents! We particularly love to combine it with a simple pattern so the beautiful colorway can take center stage. We're seeing customers use Minikins in colorwork accessories like Camille Descoteaux's Alaska Hat, Erica Heusser's Passerine Hat, and the 2-color version of Jared Flood's Lucerne Hat.

Balls come with the colors wound both ways - that is, some are A>B>C and some are C>B>A. We've checked (we're nerds) and it's the same yardage of each color regardless of which color is in the middle vs on the outside of the ball. If you have a preference about which color is on the inside/outside of the ball let us know in the notes section at checkout. We'll do our best to accommodate if possible, though we don't always have both options in stock. :)
