For some time, designer Mia Rinde has been fascinated with how a shawl grows, so she tends to design shawls that seem to develop organically but from a slightly hidden center spine. Inspired by the growth of plants, Mia wanted to see how a shawl would look if it could be composed entirely of leaves and flowers.
This pattern combines these elements into a coherent motif, leading to her choice of the name "Macrophylla" - the Latin word for "containing large leaves".
