Linen stitch is so brilliant-the way the stitch pattern mingles and pixelates a hand-dyed yarn just thrills knitters. But why should knitters have all the fun? Enter our friend Sandra, who shared a crochet stitch with us that has the same effect. We fell in love! Unlike its knitted cousin, crocheted 'linen stitch' is utterly reversible-doubly brilliant!
Smaller scarf or loop: Approx. 4.5 x 50"/11.5 x 127cm, excluding fringe.
Larger scarf or loop: Approx. 6 x 73"/15 x 185cm, excluding fringe.

Approx. 437 yds/400m (874 yds/800m) of fingering-weight yarn. Includes 24 yds/22m (36 yds/33m) for optional twisted fringe on scarf.
US G (4mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
US C (2.5-2.75mm) crochet hook, or 4 US sizes/1.25-1.5mm smaller than gauge hook.
Locking stitch markers: 10 for counting foundation stitches (optional); 1 for loop.
Darning needle to finish.
Pins and binder clips for twisting fringe.
