Your First Socks
When I learned to knit over 20 years ago, it was because of socks. Over the years, I’ve knit lots of pairs (and even more singles), top down, toe-up, even on the bias. I never tire of the way a sock project moves along from segment to segment, or the potential for adding an entertaining stitch with out too much commitment. Socks are perfectly portable, too. They’ve been with me on camping trips, car trips, and cross town bus trips; in waiting rooms, airports, and long lines at the grocery store.
If you’re ready to bring socks into your life, we have the perfect classes coming up this Fall at Twisted!
First Cuff Down Socks – Sunday, October 23 & 30, from 11:00am-1:00pm. Pick up a skein of irresistible sock yarn and get started on your first socks. Katelyn teaches this class with the Magic Loop method, allowing students to make their socks on one long circular needle for extra convenience.
Toe-Up Socks with a Gusset Heel on 2 Circular Needles – Thursday, November 3, 10 & 17 from 6:00-8:00pm. Join me for this class on my favorite style of sock knitting! Students will learn the Figure 8 cast on, wrap & turn short rows, and strategies for making socks that fit. You’ll receive my master formula, and we’ll talk about designing your own socks.
