Whole Body Knitting
For so many of us, knitting is more than just a hobby – it’s a big part of our lives. We take it with us to the grocery store, the beach, the swim meet. We do it to relax, to stay busy while watching Tv, to make beautiful gifts that are as much about the time and love imbued in them as they are about keeping a head warm. We often forget that knitting requires such physical endurance – regardless of your level of skill, anyone who knits has probably dealt with the aches and pains associated with working on a project for too long.
We believe in healthy knitting, and are excited to offer a wonderful class with Johanna Wearsch, a licensed massage therapist practicing Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy: Posture Tips & Stretches for Knitters, on Monday, April 11, from 6:00-8:00pm. In this class, you will experience what it is like to work in a way that is most gentle on your body. Using gentle movement, stretches, and attention to breathing, students will learn how to keep their bodies fresh and pain free while knitting. Topics that will also be addressed include how to sit in a chair correctly, how to identify signs of injury, how to care for your body while knitting, and more. Come join us for an evening in a supportive, community atmosphere.
We have lots of inspiring classes coming up this Spring! For more information, or to enroll, visit our online store, give us a call (503 922 1150), or drop into Twisted, where we love to help you!
