Upcoming Classes – Socks & Slippers
Toe-Up Socks with a Gusset Heel on 2 Circular Needles – Tuesday, February 9, 16 & 23; from 6:00-8:00pm, with Emily Devlin. This class introduces students to the toe-up method of sock construction, featuring a gusset heel for a great fit, and includes Emily’s magic formula for making socks to fit any feet, at any gauge.
Turkish Bed Socks – Saturday, March 19, 26 & April 2; from 1:30-3:30pm, with Parna. A good introduction to sock knitting – these little socks are great to wear around the house, or all year long with your clogs and slip-ons. The pattern appeals to fanatic sock knitters and beginners alike: the unusual heel construction is knitted flat, but after the instep, the foot is worked in the round. Traditional sock toe shaping prepares the knitter for future socks.
Simple House Slippers – Sunday, March 20; from 10:30am-1:30pm, with Parna. These cozy house slippers from Temple of Knit make for a class that’s just right for beginners looking to build skills, and for more advanced knitters who crave a quick project. You’ll want to make a whole stack of these slippers!
