Finishing!
With Parna “The Champion” Mehrbani, October 23, 1-3 pm, $20
Learn the finishing skills that will give your projects that oh-so-refined look! Includes the following techniques, but we’re open to suggestion as well!
-kitchener stitch (grafting), mattress stitch, 3 needle bind off, blocking, weaving in ends (duplicate stitch and split stitch methods), picot edges, applied i-cord, and whatever else you request!
Materials needed: Worsted weight yarn and needles to match.
Homework: Please bring to class 6 swatches, each about 4″x4″: 2 garter stitch with live stitches on one end, 2 stockinette with live stitches on end, 2 stockinette bound off.

Machu Picchu Hat
With Nichole “Bluegirl” Reese, October 24, 12-3 pm, $30
Discover stranded colorwork with this delightful Peruvian-inspired earflap hat, which uses a unique cast-on technique and Andean colorwork patterns.
Materials: Approx. 82 yards of two colors of bulky weight yarn (suggested: Alpaca with a Twist Big Baby or Mirasol Sulka), 1 16″ US size 10 circular needle and dpns to match (or your preferred method of small circumference knitting), size I or J crochet hook, stitch holder, darning needle, scissors.

Continental Knitting Workshop
With Michelle “The Maestra” Molis, October 25, 6-8pm, $20
See how the other half lives and learn to knit holdin ghte yarn in your left hand and “picking” instead of “throwing”.
Materials: Worsted weight yarn and needles to match.
Homework: Bring to class work on the needles measuring about 40 stitches wide and 2″ long
