Upcoming Classes- Karie Galvin’s Wirey Fun!

We’ve got three super fun classes coming up with master wire-tamer Karie Galvin!

First up, Beaded Stitch Markers! Learn to make your own snazzy dangly fancy-pantsy beaded stitch markers. It’s like jewelry for your knitting! (And it’s super addictive.) Class is on Sunday, July 25th, from 10:30am -12:30pm. The class costs $20 and you’ll need a Silverpurl stitch marker kit (don’t worry, we sell ’em!)

Then, on July 31st, we’ll be making Crochet Wire Hoop Earrings. Add a splash of shiny crocheted bling to your wardrobe and learn to manipulate wire to create a crochet tube, which you’ll add to sterling silver wire to create hoop earrings. Be careful! These are fun and a bit addictive, which means you’ll end up with great gifts in a jiffy. Some crochet experience is recommended. The class is $20 and runs from 10:30am- 12:30pm. You’ll need a size 14 crochet hook, 28 gauge artist wire in a color of your choice and a contrasting color, and large hoop earrings with 20 gauge wire OR a Silverpurl Crochet Wire Hoop Earring Kit. Class includes the pattern.

But don’t worry knitters, you get snazzy wire jewelry too! Our Knitted Wire Bracelet class will introduce you to knitting with wire and leave you with a cool and sculptural bangle or clasped bracelet (your choice). Karie will show you how to add beads as well! Class is on August 7th, 10:30am- 12:30pm, and costs $20. You’ll need 100y of 28 gauge artist wire in copper, brass, or silver, 30 beads of your choice, US size 4-8 needles, depending on weave of bracelet desired, toggle finding of your cohice, OR Silverpurl Wire Bracelet kit. Bracelet pattern is included with the class.
