Spun-Out Patterns

spnout.jpgYou all know how very much we love and adore Schoolhouse Press, right? Well, you may not know that, tucked in amongst our pattern-binders, there’s one called Spun-Out Designs, which has one-page reproductions of all of Elizabeth Zimmerman’s original newsletters. All of the patterns cost a mere dollar, except for the Baby Surprise pattern, which is a whopping THREE dollars, and they are a wonderful glimpse into the mind of the masteress, EZ.

We’ve also got The Opinionated Knitter, which is a compilation of EZ’s newsletters (from 1958-1968), generously sprinkled with her famous personal digressions. You really feel like you get to know someone by reading a book like this – you get to know how her knitterly designer mind worked, and how she was as a mother, a friend, a wife, a lover of the outdoors.
