Sock yarn quilt

One of the fantastic patterns in Larissa Brown’s book Knitalong is the “Barn-Raising Quilt.” This afghan is made out of 42 7″x7″ squares of left over sock yarn. Each square takes about 75 yards/20 grams of fingering weight yarn. This photo is from the Knitalong website:

The book suggests that it can be “made by many knitters… in the kind of effort where the more people pitch in, the warmer – and wilder – the results.” Well, one of our regulars, Rusty, has become totally obsessed with this project and is doing it all by herself. She’s over half way done and brought in her gorgeous stack of squares to show us – and you!
