New Yarns from Blue Moooooooooon
We are over the moon, everyone, because we now have new yarns from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. Tina stopped by the other day on her way to dinner, and dropped off two ginormous boxes of yarn. Plus tons of Funky Sock Monkey patterns, which we are dying to make. We’ve got:
WooBu, a wool-bamboo (60% merino, 40% bamboo) mix that is so soft and fabulous and well-priced, I had to call Tina to ask her if the price really was right. It comes in a big ole’ 620-yard hank, and is a dk-ish weight. I see myself in a WooBu sweater come fall, maybe even Wicked
Luscious Single Silk, a 50/50 merino/silk blend, shiny, lovely, gorgeous, the perfect thing for a sweater or shawl or scarf or hat or…oh, this stuff is GREAT. It comes in a 500-yard hank, and is also roughly dk. Emily is planning a Tree Jacket in this yarn. The softest Tree Jacket the world has ever seen!
Laci, a 100% extrafine merino lace-weight, in a HUGE hank of 1750 yards. EZ’s PI Shawl would be fabulous in this yarn, as would any of the Evelyn Clark or Meg Swanson designs. Or maybe something from Victorian Lace Today…
Silk Thread, which is 100% pure hand-dyed silk goodness. It’s a lace-weight and at 1250 yards, you could create on heckofa gorgeous shawl or stole. Or a sweater. The most gorgeous, soft, silky sweater the world has ever seen.
Check out these close-ups! They are even better in person, folks. We have six colors of each of the yarns right now: Bleck, Malten, Midsummer Night, Mossay, Oregon Red Clover Honey, and Thraven.
