K12tog October Project - Furrow Cowl

K12tog October Project - Furrow Cowl

Join us Monday, October 2 from 5-7pm as we celebrate the return of Autumn with the Furrow Cowl, by Jared Flood. Check out the Wool People 11 Trunk Show (in-store 10/1-10/8), enjoy homemade goodies, and hang out with a lovely, welcoming, group of knitters.

October’s Project Details: Furrow’s simple stitches make for easy knitting, and a gentle bell shape — achieved by decreases within the moss stitch segments — makes styling effortless. Knit in Shelter to 18” tall, the cowl drapes and folds elegantly, but it can be shortened if you prefer less volume or wish to use a smaller amount of yarn. Pair it with a Furrow Hat for a matched set of accessories.

Materials: The pattern is available for sale from Twisted either a single pattern download with free printed copy or as part of the book Woolens – or it is also available for download directly from Ravelry. You’ll need 480 yards of worsted weight wool yarn – we definitely recommend 4 skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter. And don’t forget two sets of circular needles – the pattern suggests 24″ 5 mm (US 8) and 24″ 3.75 mm (US 5) though of course that will depend on your gauge. Round it out with notions: stitch markerscable needledarning needle, and blocking supplies (optional).

You’ll definitely want to pick up a copy of Woolens if you’re planning on dropping in for Friday’s book signing.

That’s right, Jared Flood himself will be at Twisted, Friday October 6 from 5-7pm! Don’t miss this chance to meet the founder and creative force behind one of our favorite (and now local) companies.

Can’t make it? We’d still love for you to knit along with us, and share your work with your friends near and far on our blogFaceBookInstagram, and Ravelry. Tag your photos with #k12tog. There is no need to register, and you are not required to share your projects, though we’d love to see and admire them!
