I’m so excited to release my free hat pattern, Sonic Six, as this month’s Knit 12 Together knitalong project. This design alternates simple ribbing with columns of slipped stitches for a very stretchy, very versatile hat. It’s the perfect mix for heavily variegated yarns, like Blue Moon Fiber Arts addictive Super Sparkle.
Join me to celebrate Monday, September 4 from 5-7pm for this month’s Cast On Party!
Materials You’ll Need: The pattern is available as a free download from Ravelry. You’ll need either 275 or 375 yards (depending on whether you’ll make an adult small or adult regular) of fingering weight yarn.
We recommend 1 skein of Blue Moon Fiber Arts Super Sparkle… because SPARKLES. And don’t forget a set of 16″ circular needles and double points – the pattern suggests 2.5 mm (US 1.5) though of course that will depend on your gauge. Round it out with notions: stitch markers, a darning needle, and blocking supplies (optional).
Even if you can’t make it to the party, I hope you will knit along with us and share your work with us on our blog, Facebook, Instagram, and Ravelry (#twistedyarnshop and #k12tog).
