Haiku Contest
Just in time for December, here is the winner of the October/November haiku contest – from Taylor A. The theme was “what is your favorite kind of thing to knit?”
Sweaters on size 1’s,
With cables, and steeks, and lace…
Haha, just kidding.
Taylor’s prize is a copy of the book Suss Design Essentials by Suss Cousins. Congrats and thanks to all who entered!
And for our December/January contest, we’re asking for haikus on your New year’s crafting resolutions. The prize will be a skein of Cherry Tree Hill Organic DK sock yarn in the Martha’s Vineyard colorway. Click here to enter your haiku.
Below are all our other great entries from this past contest.
Sweater, gloves, socks, scarf,
What it is doesn’t matter
Yarn is like my drug
I like to knit things
That envelope cold bodies
With warm fuzziness
As long as there is
a sweet friend to knit it for
Everything is special!
red pokeberry dyed
yarn still bleeding a little
sent to you express
Chilly days are near
Drying sweaters in all rooms
Next year, wash in June
I love to knit socks!
I could put them in a box.
I’ll wear them instead.
Vast are the choices!
My favorites are selfish;
when knit just for me.
Loving hands create
Knitted socks to keep you warm
My precious child
His midlife crisis
Caused me to knit a blanket
Now I’m warm without him
Sweaters on size 1’s,
With cables, steeks, and lace,
Haha, just kidding
Luxurious yarn
Silently longs to become
Not another scarf
Fiber thrills me so,
Knitting row by row it grows
A favorite? No !
Favorite thing? Now
Depends on my mood. Brain dead?
Must be stockinette!
Knitting with my friends
just making plain old socks is
my favorite thing
