Enhance Your Craft Experience with Technology

row-ghazal-with-ipadWhile we aren’t quite bionic knitters yet, technology has definitely changed the way we craft. It’s exciting, and maybe a bit daunting. We have 2 classes coming up to help you make the most of 21st century craft life!

Ravelry – Start to Finish: Saturday, November 6 from 11:00am-2:00pm. Ravelry has not only changed the way knitters and crocheters find patterns and communicate about their crafts – it’s also one of the most well designed websites around. With the tremendous amount of information accessible, it can be a little overwhelming.

Debbi Stone has created a workshop to help you tap Ravelry’s potential and make it work for you! Are you interested in keeping track of your patterns, stash, projects, needles, and friends’ craft activities, all in one place? Maybe you’re a budding designer, and would like to learn to use Ravelry to market and sell your own patterns. Join Debbi, and unlock the potential of this fabulous resource!

High Tech Crafting – Monday, December 5 from 6:00-8:00pm. Tired of hauling your knitting patterns and publications around with you? While I still love to spend time perusing my favorite dictionaries and reference books, electronic pattern downloads are super convenient – I can have several books at my fingertips, receive updates and errata as it becomes available, and annotate without damaging my hard copy. Learn how to maximize your iPad as a knitting and crochet tool – from importing and storing your patterns, to how to use this amazing tool for ease while knitting, and much more.
