Sustainable Packaging
Reusing, reducing, and recycling is a lifestyle here at Twisted HQ. In the last year, one of our top sustainability achievements has been ditching single-use plastic packaging by switching to curbside-recyclable materials. It's significantly more expensive, but worth it!
- recycled and recyclable kraft paper
- reusable cotton project bags
- 100% recycled and recyclable paper mailers (like those shown above)
- recyclable and usually recycled cardboard boxes
- any bubble wrap, packing pillows, or large plastic zip bags you find in your order are repurposed from shipments that we've received (some boxes too!)
Carbon & Energy
Carbon Offsets - At no additional cost to you, we use software to estimate the amount of CO2 that is released into the atmosphere for each shipment and pay to offset those emissions. Read more.
Energy Efficiency - We minimize heating and cooling with a programmable thermostat, reflective window coverings, and insulating curtains. All our lightbulbs are LEDs, and a smart power outlet system ensures lights and fans aren't accidentally left on overnight.
Renewable Energy - Twisted participates in our power company's renewable energy plan, which supports 100% Pacific Northwest renewable resources like wind (92%), solar (5%), biomass (2%), and geothermal (1%).
Work from Home - Our team members work from home when possible, eliminating unnecessary car trips and emissions.
