Baby love blanket drive

Please join us in participating in the 2007 Baby Love Blanket Drive!
Baby Love Blanket Drive
The Baby Love Blanket Drive is a month long, charity knit-along in which people in the Portland metro area (and beyond) knit blankets for newborns in need. It is administered by a group of area doulas committed to helping give little ones something warm and special of their very own as they start life. This year it will benefit two charities:

Outside/In
Outside/In addresses the changing needs of homeless youth and other low-income and marginalized people as they work toward self-sufficiency and improved health by provide them innovative social, medical and mental health services and material resources.

Yolanda House
Yolanda House is an emergency shelter and service program for women survivors of domestic or sexual violence and their children. The house is a confidentially located, modern two-story structure in a quiet Portland neighborhood that shelters about nineteen women and their children. The house was named for a beloved YWCA staffer, Yolanda Panek, who was murdered by her ex-partner.

Twisted is hosting knitting nights for the Baby Love Blanket Drive on Saturday, November 10 and Saturday, November 17 from 5pm to 8pm. In addition, we are a drop off point for blankets from now until they are due on December 15, 2007.

We’re offering 10% off on Feza Baby yarn for anyone who is using it to knit a blanket for this drive.

Requirements:
Size: Finished blankets should be around 27″-37″ x 34″-45″.
Fiber: Any fiber that is machine washable and soft to the touch.
