We were first introduced to Melissa through our relationship with Wendee from Hazel Knits. They’re neighbors, you see, and collaborate on things quite frequently. She’s a great designer, with an eye to classic styles and lovely details. In short, we love what she does with sticks and string.
It’s a one-hour workshop on a great way to begin a neck-down shawl.
$10 with Melissa Goodale
Come learn how to make a smooth start to your next neck down shawl. In ‘Half-Moon Basics,’ we’ll cover a simple way to work a circular, or cinched, cast-on as well as the basic math behind semi-circular shawls. This clever cast on technique can be used when working flat or in the round. It’s great for top down hats and bottom up bags too.
Date/Time: Sunday, August 19, 1-2pm
Materials – please bring your own or before/during class get 20% off on: A smooth yarn in a weight YOU are comfortable with (fingering – worsted range) and needles sized to work with that yarn (4-9 ish range). We’ll be practicing it flat, so circs, straights, or dpns will all work (it’ll just be a few sts worked back and forth to practice).
