Weaving

We now have rigid heddle looms at Twisted – the cute and fantastic Cricket Loom by Schacht ($140), to be more precise. There’s one set up in the shop, if you are interested in taking one on a test-drive, AND we will have classes in the future. But, if you can’t wait and want to learn right.now, we just heard about an event that could be just the thing you are looking for.

rigid heddle loom

On Saturday, July 23rd, from 9am – 5pm, at the Multnomah Arts Center (7688 SW Capitol Hwy), The Portland Handweavers Guild is trying to get more people addicted to weaving. They are offering a full day of demonstrations and exploration for weavers and non-weavers alike, from the basics to a variety of advanced techniques. Drop by for an hour, or stay aaaaallll day. Bring your own rigid heddle loom (stop by at Twisted on the way and snag a Cricket!), or use one of theirs. They will also be providing yarn for small projects, but you can definitely bring your own, along with your own loom, and get started on an heirloom piece (holiday crafting, anyone?!?!?) If you have any questions, please give Janice a call at 503-643-5643. Twisted is not associated with the Portland Handweavers Guild; we are merely sharing with you a fun-sounding event for this weekend.
