Moebius Madness (starts TONIGHT)
A peek into the infinite possibilities of Moebius knitting. Sivia Harding Knit Clinic
We are so fortunate here at Twisted to be surrounded by experts in everything crafty. To that end, we’ve decided to play on one of our Twistedistas’ very strong teaching skills, while at the same time, offering you, our customers, another option for knitterly assistance. It’s the Sivia Harding Clinic! Clinics are drop-in, and cost just $10 an hour. Of course, having said that, you can always pre-register if you’d like, for as little as an hour, or as long as 4. Sivia can help you with pretty much any knitting problem you may have. She’ll get you all straightened out, no worries!
We will learn how to sew a zipper by hand for a strong, clean, supple finish, using a method with specific steps that give a great result, every time.
Saturday, May 7, 1:00–3:00pm.
with Anne Berk
Materials: Bring to class: two knitted swatches – of the same length, in which to insert your zipper. If you have a project that needs a zipper, this is the place to bring it. Bring yarn that matches your swatch in weight, to knit an edging, if needed. Zipper – preferably the same length as your knitted pieces, or a bit shorter. www.zipperstop.com is an excellent source for
zippers, offering vast color range and customized lengths. Sewing pins, sewing needle, thread that matches the color of your swatches, and thread that is a contrast color (for basting). Buttonhole thread is great, but any thread will do. Scissors.
Pick your own project and get help with whatever you need or whatever strikes your fancy. Beginner level and up – people in this class should already know the basics of knitting and how to read a pattern. Drop-ins welcome!
